About

Buckman Coe continues to explore and re-envision classic Folk, Soul, and Reggae. Being especially inspired by artists who delivered messages of social justice, humanity, and love. At the same the same time there is a playfulness and a dedication to grooves and melodies that are hard to resist. Genres are seamlessly combined while retaining a familiarity and an authenticity that soothes and uplifts.

His recent release Malama Ka ’Aina (2015) – a Hawaiian phrase meaning to respect the land – is a fusion of Reggae, Soul, and World music. He is set to release two albums in 2018. The first, 'So it Goes', is a return to his folk and acoustic soul roots and will be released in March. The second, 'Gathering Storm', is an exploration of classic and progressive soul and reggae.

Over the past 7 years of touring Canada, Hawaii, Oregon, Australia, Indonesia, and Taiwan, Buckman Coe has established a reputation for high-energy, uplifting, horn-infused Roots Rock Reggae. At the same time, he has remained engaged in social and ecological justice movements as a citizen and as a musician writing for various frontlines and initiatives, and performing at rallies and fundraisers. This has made him an artist with a wide repertoire and adaptability as a big band leader and solo artist.
