He picked up guitar at age 6 and started writing music and singing his own songs that same day.

Fast Forward 24 years... while isolated during Covid Dusty set up his dream home studio and started writing a new album for his band 'Wanderers'. Only this time there were songs coming out that felt too personal, too different to be put in a box with the rest.

Most of these songs revealed themselves on sleepless nights in the AM as he contemplated life, love, fatherhood and the universe at large. The fact of his restless daughter sleeping in the next room brought out melodies and tones in Dusty's voice that were quiet, effortless and easy, a stark contrast to him belting out crowd chanting choruses with his band. The piano was muted, the nylon string acoustic provided the perfect mellow tone, and as he often does he hit record not long after the first verse lyrics were written.

Over the last 3 years these songs have grown and evolved like children accending through their school years. One dream was to have classic MGM Cinema era style strings weaving throughout the arrangements, trading space with his detailed backing vocal arrangements. With Ross Irwin on board this vision came to life.

He could only think of one person who'd be able to get this grand vision its full potential so he has inlisted Francois Tetaz (Gotye, Kimbra, Baz Luhrmann films, Lior, Architecture in Helsinky) to put the final touch on these songs with his world class mixing.

Dustyn will be putting out this music through the good folks at Yama Nui Records on the Sunshine Coast.
