Lyn Bowtell

Lyn Bowtell is one of Australia's respected singer-songwriters and music industry leaders. A ten-time Golden Guitar winner, Toyota Star Maker winner, MO Award recipient and 2026 inductee into the Tamworth Galaxy of Stars, Lyn has spent more than three decades contributing to Australian music as an artist, songwriter, collaborator, mentor and advocate.

Known for her distinctive voice, captivating live performances and deeply personal songwriting, Lyn's acclaimed solo career has established her as one of Australia's most respected country artists. Her work has included collaborations with some of Australia's leading artists and songwriters, including Shane Nicholson, Catherine Britt, Josh Pyke, Felicity Urquhart, Bella and Kevin Bennett, reflecting her strong reputation as both a songwriter and collaborator.

Her 2022 album Wiser debuted at #1 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart, and in 2026 her latest release Paper Cuts achieved the same result. Co-produced with her partner Damon Morton, the album reflects Lyn's continued artistic evolution, bringing together established artists, long-time collaborators and emerging songwriters.

Beyond her own recording and touring career, Lyn has played an influential role in supporting the growth of Australian music and its next generation of musicians. Since 2017, she has served as Artistic Director of the CMAA Academy of Country Music, where she has mentored hundreds of emerging artists and industry professionals. She is also Founder and Artistic Director of SHE Songwriting Retreats, creating opportunities for women to connect, collaborate and develop their songwriting.
