Lyn Bowtell is a 10-time Golden Guitar winner, Toyota Star Maker, and MO Award winner. With her remarkable voice, masterful songwriting, and magnetic stage presence, she’s become one of Australian country music’s most respected and versatile artists.
From her early days with award-winning trio Bella to her work with Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart, Lyn’s music continues to resonate with depth and craft. In 2022, her Album ‘Wiser’ debuted at #1 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart.
Her new album Paper Cuts – an 11-track collection co-produced with Damon Morton – features songs written during retreats, between tours, and through some deeply personal chapters. The album includes collaborations with her Bella bandmates Kate Ballantyne and Karen O’Shea, contributions from Kasey Chambers, Duncan Toombs, Gretta Ziller and co-writes with co-producer Damon Morton, Kevin Bennett, and writers from her SHE Songwriting Retreats. It captures Lyn at her most refined and fearless.
Singles Paper Cut, Cold Shiver, and I Don’t Wanna Stay have all received strong support, and the powerful track Scene of the Crime will accompany the album’s digital release on 5th September.
Lyn is also the Founder and Artistic Director of SHE Songwriting Retreats - empowering women to create, connect and grow through songwriting - and serves as Artistic Director of the CMAA Academy of Country Music, mentoring the next generation of artists.
