Self-described as a ball of emotions with legs attached, Maddy Petch is a Melbourne born singer-songwriter whose storytelling explores the transparency of human truths with a brazen voice, broad chords and rainbow melodies.
With figures such as Madison Cunningham, Angie McMahon and Middle Kids behind her sound, Petch creates a butter-n’-jam-like fusion of indie-pop and folk-rock you didn’t know you needed.
In 2019, Petch was crowned a recipient of the Popakademie Songwriters Scholarship Program, taking place in Mannheim, Germany. After signing her work there with SONY, an impromptu year-long hiatus in London followed suit, sparking a newfound philosophy on life that is heard in her anecdotal lyrics today.
Having since worked with some of Australia’s finest, opening for artists like Cub Sport and Didirri, Petch quickly found her pocket in the Australian Indie scene with her latest release ‘Rented Boyfriend’ debuting in December last year, and her latest single ‘A Lifetime’, which was released in February.
Heart on her sleeve, emotions behind the wheel, Petch casts a line out to all those willing to brave the loud and the quiet moments with her.
