“Amber Kenny is pure sunshine; she sings from the heart and writes from a place of truth. Her vocals are mesmerising.” – Lyn Bowtell
Amber Kenny hails from the Southern Highlands on Gundungurra land in New South Wales, Australia. She lives on a farm with her family, horses and cherished Maton guitar. A passionate songwriter, Amber has been described as an Australian Joni Mitchell who lives on the back of a horse, a tea drinking, barefoot poet. Amber blends captivating melodies and raw, profoundly personal lyrics that resonate deeply with her listeners. Amber’s ability to authentically connect with her audience is at the heart of her music.
In 2023, Amber released ‘Run Dry’ – her debut single produced by Nash Chambers – as part of her debut EP, ‘Out In The Open’. The music video for ‘Run Dry’ was aired on CMT and remains in rotation. That same year, Amber headed to Nashville for AMERICANAFEST, where she made her US debut at the iconic Bluebird Cafe.
Amber’s debut tour – Diaries of a Songwriter – took her to festivals throughout 2024, including Yass’ Irish and Celtic Music Festival and the Bundanoon Folk Festival.
In 2025, Amber visited rural and regional areas of New South Wales with several sold-out shows, including Robertson Public House & Kitchen and Django, Marrickville, Sydney, as part of a state-wide tour supporting the release of her debut album ‘Beautiful Scars’.
‘Beautiful Scars’ was produced by Syd Green (Kasey Chamber’s drummer) and Ben Fink (The Whitlams), alongside Amber. It features an impressive line-up of musical talent including Lyn Bowtell (10-time Golden Guitar winner), Lloyd Swanton (The Necks) and Clare O'Meara (John Williamson, The Bushwhackers). The album is full of deep layers of emotion and storytelling, combining soaring vocals and beautiful musicianship. It has been featured across Australia on more than 40 community radio station as well as ABC Country, with the album’s singles receiving positive airplay on Grass Roots and Saturday Night Country.
For the past four years, Amber has performed at the Tamworth Country Music Festival as a solo artist and with her band The Wildflowers as well as part of 3 Birds & The Truth, a trio with Beth Lucas and Jo Caseley. ‘Beautiful Scars’ enjoyed its TCMF debut at The Press Basement in January 2026.
“Amber Kenny is a shining example of what happens when passion and perseverance come together in perfect harmony.” – Samantha Taylor, Taylor Made Artist Services
