Company B Jazz Band is one of Canada's foremost vintage jazz ensembles, featuring a harmonizing vocal trio. The band offers a vast repertoire that spans over a century, including authentic transcriptions of Swing Era harmony groups, original compositions, and arrangements of contemporary music, all performed in classic Swing Era style. Originally a sextet, Company B now performs in various instrumentations, from as many as 12 down to a compact trio. Their touring quartet features the three vocalists doubling respectively on trumpet, ukulele, and piano/percussion, alongside acoustic bass. In all ways, Company B brings a unique and classy flair to any and every variety of event.
Since their inception in 2007, Company B's reputation for clever arrangements, pitch-perfect musicianship, and an engaging stage dynamic has made its way around the world: over the past decade, the band they have performed at international music festivals and historic jazz venues throughout Asia, Europe, and North America (China, 2015, '18; India, 2019); Europe/UK, 2018, '19). Further accolades include featured performances at several of British Columbia's renowned folk music festivals, live broadcast recordings on international radio, as well as 8 studio albums.
On October 6th (2025) the band had the honour of performing as their 12-piece ensemble at Vancouver, BC's premiere jazz venue Frankie's Jazz Club, featuring a 6-piece horn ensemble. They performed the classic arrangements of the 1940s dance halls, as well as original arrangements and compositions. Recorded live, the band now celebrates the release of "Live From The Hive" this May (2026) with a tour of Europe and the UK, culminating upon their return with a performance the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
