EP OUT OCTOBER 9, 2026Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lucy Gallant releases her five-track EP “Forbidden Fruit” on Friday, October 9, 2026, bringing together a collection of bold, deeply personal songs that explore desire, heartbreak, temptation, power and emotional freedom.“Forbidden Fruit” brings together “Bad Boy”, “F YOU”, “Devious”, “Venom” and “Forbidden Love” into a collection that shows a more daring, raw and unfiltered side of Gallant’s songwriting.
Across the five tracks, Gallant moves between vulnerability and defiance, writing openly about complicated relationships, forbidden attraction, desire, betrayal, boundaries and the moments that force us to reclaim our own power.
“Forbidden Fruit is me taking a walk on the wild side and saying the things we’re sometimes too afraid to say out loud. These songs came from real experiences, wanting the wrong person, giving in to temptation, falling hard, getting my heart broken, finding my fire and choosing myself. I didn’t want to behave myself on this EP. I wanted it to be honest, sexy, a little dangerous and completely unfiltered.”
The EP opens with “Bad Boy”, a playful and seductive exploration of finding someone who matches your inner baddie and causing a little trouble together, before the unapologetic “F YOU” turns frustration into a fearless declaration of self-respect.
“Devious” dives into the intoxicating pull of attraction and temptation, while “Venom” takes the EP into more emotionally intense territory, transforming pain, grief and betrayal into strength.
The closing track “Forbidden Love” reveals another side of Gallant, exploring the depth and complexity of loving someone when circumstances make that love impossible.
Together, the five songs form “Forbidden Fruit”, an EP about embracing the parts of ourselves we don’t always dare to show.
Produced by award-winning producer Josh Beattie and mastered by Paul Blakey, “Forbidden Fruit” combines Gallant’s distinctive songwriting and commanding vocals with a polished yet emotionally charged sound.
Gallant’s independent discography spans more than a decade, including the albums “Free Like Me” (2012) and “Darkness to Light” (2019), the EP “Flowers” (2023), and multiple singles. Her career has taken her across Australia and internationally, with performances at major festivals including Glastonbury Festival, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Woodford Folk Festival.
The release arrives during a huge year for the fiercely independent artist, with Gallant touring across Australia and selling out shows throughout 2026, while continuing to build a growing audience around her original music.
Rather than waiting for the traditional music industry to open its doors, Gallant continues to build her career independently, bringing her music directly to audiences through her recordings and live performances.
