“Displays an intuitive songwriting maturity” – Rhythms Magazine
“An excellent album” – Neil Rogers, Triple R
Melbourne singer-songwriter Hannah Acfield is one of Australia’s most compelling voices in contemporary folk and soul. Her acclaimed 2025 album Golden Light debuted at #13 on the ARIA Jazz & Blues Chart and was named #1 Album of 2025 by Billy Pinnell, cementing Acfield as one of the country’s most distinctive independent artists.
Blending soulful folk, roots, gospel and subtle RnB influences, Golden Light showcases Acfield’s powerful voice, emotive songwriting and gift for creating music that feels both intimate and expansive. Featuring standout tracks “I Got You,” “Truth,” and “I’ll Always Be There,” the album explores themes of connection, resilience, friendship and self-worth with warmth, honesty and depth.
Acfield first drew widespread acclaim with her 2021 debut solo album No Light Without Shade, praised by The Australian as “a triumph of talent” and featuring a voice described as “an instrument of breathtaking dexterity.” Her 2023 release Live at The Aviary, recorded and filmed live in one take, further highlighted her exceptional vocal ability and magnetic live presence.
Across a career spanning multiple albums and EPs as both a solo artist and with sibling folk duo The Acfields, Acfield has toured extensively throughout Australia, the UK and Ireland, building a reputation for unforgettable live performances that blend musical excellence with warmth, humour and genuine audience connection.
