Minori possesses a deep power, she (seemingly effortlessly) bends Hip Hop, Reggae, RNB Dub and Dancehall into something different. She hits you to the core and plants a message of trial and triumph.
“Music is art and art is life” she’s frequently quoted saying and it’s apparent throughout her craft, with a Japanese name that translates to "Beautiful Stream", it’s an apt name for a singer tuned into a beautiful stream of consciousness that comes through her lyrics & sound.
A chance meeting in 2018 saw her connect deeply with the creative team of renowned International/Australian Artist, Nattali Rize. Seeing a strong potential in Minori, the Rize team went on to produce her single & video, Red Pill, and then release it through Nattali’s new hybrid label RIZE NATION on May 1, 2020 which has received high praise from the Jamaican & global community.

MINORI has worked with the likes of Syl Gordon, known for his work with International artist Shabba Ranks and has worked closely with the legendary Mikie Bennet.
The rizing artist brings a dynamic live presence, her high energy, strong & uplifting power is equally balanced and soulful. A finalist in the popular Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall the Jamaican D-Hop creative has been steady making strides graduating from an M.I.R ( Master's in Residence ) University program and honing her craft as a performer, writer and recording artist.
A respected songwriter, Minori was recently featured in the Fiwi Jamaica musical ("Forbidden Fruit ), a project which she wrote & Co-wrote and wrote several of the tracks for and was also featured as one of the main characters. She one of the main writer’s for the Appleton Estate's Heart of Jamaica Album, Phenomenal Woman, released in, 2018 where she is also a featured artist alongside several prominent female artists.
A dedicated artivist, she is one of the few Jamaican entertainers supporting issues of Climate change, Climate adaptation and Climate resilience.
Born Minori Izumi Russell to parents Dawn Marie Hall and Samuel Russell (both deceased) she’s battled life’s hardships with an undying passion for the recording and performing arts and has steadily created a lane for herself. She is an undeniable talent, highly relatable, lyrically blessed and has created a sound that just connects.
