Over the past three years, emerging artist Piper Butcher has played festivals including Dashville Skyline, Thredbo Blues Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Moruya Blues & Roots Festival and West Best Bloc Fest in addition to being a Top 24 Finalist on Australian Idol. While her live accolades are only increasing, Piper’s music has been played on TV channels CMT (Foxtel) and 9GO- accumulating a large audience of every demographic. As well as these achievements, Piper holds the position of Ambassador for Operation Smile Australia and Variety The Children’s Charity- two organisations that are close to heart; due to her own experience of being born with a cleft palate. The passion and drive is evident in these few years of great success.
Piper released her EP “September”, with the outstanding success of #1 in the Alternative Album iTunes charts and #2 in the All-Genre Album iTunes charts. The EP came with the assurance and confidence that marked her as an impressive new artist with a long career in front. Moving forward Piper released "Read Between the Lines" which is a fierce, upbeat track that set her apart from other new artists. In December of that year, she delivered a strong anthem in her single, “Unconscious Mind”. The song debuted at #2 on the Singer Songwriter iTunes Charts and held a position in the charts for a consecutive few days, also debuting #1 AMRAP Regional Charts shortly after its release. 2024 saw Piper’s first single of the year Turn The Key spun on Triple J Program ‘TOPS’ ahead of its release. After advancing through the year on a 45 date tour, Piper introduced her most vulnerable story with ‘Through The Night”, which reached #16 on the U.S Apple Music Playlist ‘Country Wide’, asserting the growth and ability to reach audiences worldwide.
March 2025 saw Piper Butcher embark on her first National Tour with Warner Music’s Brad Cox, as his main support. Reaching regional communities across Australia, her band show proved her powerful performance - and debuted her newest single “Start of Something’ co-produced by Kasey Chambers and Brandon Dodd at Rabbit Hole Recording Studios. The song stemmed from the ‘Words and Music’ event curated by Nick Milligan at the Newcastle Writers Festival in 2024, pulling narrative from Novacastrian Author Susan Francis and her raw and authentic autobiography about love, loss and finding herself in the aftermath.
With the modern soulful flair of Chris Stapleton, and the timeless influence of Stevie Nicks, any performance of Piper's gives an insight into her unique sound and fresh style. From a full band sound to an exhilarating, heartfelt solo story, Piper showcases her soul in song; and there isn’t a single performance that is an exception. In fact- it’s a perfect illustration of where she has come from, and where she’s heading…
