Ricki Wood is a country folk and acoustic singer-songwriter whose music walks the line between earthy simplicity and emotional depth. Drawing from a life well-travelled and a heart still wide open, Ricki shares songs shaped by personal experience and a quiet yearning for something more — connection, truth, and the kind of meaning you don’t always find in words.
“Emotive, heartfelt, authentic”
Dallas Frasca
Ricki brings a stripped-back, no-frills presence to every stage he steps on. His style echoes the introspective spirit of artists like Shane Nicholson, Colin Hay, Bon Iver and Ray LaMontagne — storytellers who don’t just sing at you, but with you.
“I recently discovered Ricki Wood on the north coast of NSW.
I just love his stuff. Lovely voice. Great musicianship”
Normie Rowe
At his core, Ricki is about real-life connection. Whether he’s playing to a packed town hall or an intimate community gathering, it’s never about the spotlight — it’s about the shared moment, the lived story, and the human behind the microphone.
"One of the best musos Gippsland has ever produced"
Mick Harrington - The Voice 2021
At age 51 (2025), Ricki still carries the fire and curiosity of someone just starting out, with a hunger to reach people on a gut level. His songs speak to those who are spiritually tuned-in — not in a cosmic way, but in a grounded, heartfelt one. The kind of people who want to go a little deeper into themselves, and feel a little less alone in the process.
Good Lord. How good is this guy?
Frankie J Holden AOM (Ol' 55)
In May 2025, Ricki attended The DAG Songwriting Retreat where he cowrote songs with some incredible artists including Shane Nicholson, Lola Brinton, Carly Robinson, Owen Thomas and Brendan Nowrocki to name a few. This retreat was a moment that changed Rick’s life as he decided to give up his normal ‘cover gigs’ and focus more on his writing, releasing songs and touring everywhere he can go.
“How the hell have I never heard of you until now?”
Kevin Bennett
Whether at a house concert, venue, caravan park, outside a shopping mall or at a major festival, Ricki will captivate you with his songs that are filled with the journeys of life, ups and downs, a few laughs, maybe more tears than expected. It is these moments of connection where true magic is found.
