Stellar Moon is Monique Le Lievre, a First Nations Nyikina woman from Boorroola (Derby), living on Rubibi Buru (Broome) in the Kimberley.

Bold & powerful in presence, music & message. Stellar Moon transports us on a journey of liberation. Strong gritty vocals, funky riffs, served with a heap of soul, Stellar sings about freedom from social conditioning & inherited wounds, inspiring deeper connection to self, Country & culture.

Curious of human behaviour, romanced by the Cosmos and anchored to ‘Country’, Stellar Moon endeavours to make sense of, to learn and to share the lessons of life through her music. Audiences leave feeling shaken, shifted, stirred and uplifted.

Stellar Moon tours Western Australia extensively and is branching out into East Coast shows. She released her debut album ‘Phases’ in March 2024, with one single sitting in AMRAP’s top 10 for 3 weeks and being added to many playlists and articles next to her idols.

Stellar Moon has played WA's major festivals such as Nannup Music Festival, the Bridgetown Blues and Ord Valley Muster and has supported Australian Music greats such as Christine Anu, Daryl Braithwaite and The Waifs

Stellar Moon is in the studio with album number 2 in 2026, the first released single 'Dark Night' gaining traction taking 6th place nationwide on the airplay charts and #2 for the regional.

As well as performing, as Stellar Moon, Monique mentors emerging artists, runs a choir and other music circles, she is a qualified teacher, life coach and a seasoned workshop facilitator. Monique has written music for WA Health and the Australian Electoral Commission and runs a recording studio with her partner Mick Stephens in Broome.

Monique Le Lievre is First Nations artist ‘Stellar Moon’,
Nyikina Jarndoo (woman) from Derby, living in Broome in the Kimberley. Bold
& powerful in presence, music & message. Stellar Moon transports us on
a journey of liberation. Strong vocals, funky riffs, country-rock overtones
with a heap of soul, singing about freedom in all its facets; freedom of mind,
social conditioning & inherited wounds, inspiring deeper connection to

self, Country & culture.

Monique is armed with curiosity of human behaviour, coupled with a deep intrigue
into the Cosmos and anchored lovingly to ‘Country’/the natural world. Stellar
Moon endeavours to make sense of, to learn and to share the lessons of life
through her music. Audiences leave feeling shaken, shifted, stirred and
uplifted. Learning ‘Nyikina Nganka', her Grandmother’s language as part of her
healing process, she now embeds in in her songs.

After teaching Music and leading popular cover bands for
almost 20 years, in her 40’s, Monique decided to be very brave & vulnerable
and start sharing her own music with the world. She was awarded both the APRA
‘Women in Music Mentorship’ and a place on WAM’s ‘Sounds of the Kimberley and

recorded her fist two singles under Monique LeLievre.

The Stellar Moon music project began in 2020 and since then they
have completed four statewide tours and their first East Coast shows. Stellar
Moon released their debut album ‘Phases’ in March 2024, with one single sitting in AMRAP’s top 10 for

Stellar Moon has played several festivals including the award-winning Nannup
Music Festival, the Bridgetown Blues, Bunuru Festival, Ord Valley Muster and
the Sunset Sounds Festival ahead of Lee Kernaghan. She has supported Australian
Music greats such as Emily Wurramara, Daryl Braithwaite and The Waifs.
