Velour are three friends, drawn together through a mutual love of harmony singing, storytelling through song and a penchant for creating unique, 3 part vocal arrangements. Kate Joseph, Bronwyn Gell and Brenda Cooper have been delighting audiences with their original acapella songs for 10 years. Three fierce women who sing together, lift each other up and keep it real! Their style embraces a fusion of folk, jazz, cabaret and blues genres. Joyful and hilarious one moment, raw and emotional the next.
Velour has supported The East Pointers (CAN), Blair Dunlop (UK), Tullara (AUS) and Hat Fitz & Cara (AUS) as part of the Festival of Small Halls touring program. They made their festival debut at the Illawarra Folk Festival in 2020 and received many accolades:
